About Avoca

Healthcare operations run on technology that was never built for how patients expect to access care today. 1 in 5 Australian patients abandon calls to their preferred clinic because of long wait times. That's care delayed, revenue lost and reception teams stretched thin.

Avoca Systems is building the AI operating layer to transform healthcare administration and patient access. We're a Y Combinator company already working with some of the largest enterprise healthcare organisations in Australia, and we're seeking new team members to accelerate our impact.

The role

We're looking for an ambitious Product Manager to drive our radiology vertical. As one of our early product hires, you won't just manage a backlog: you'll shape the product, our partnerships and how the product works at Avoca.

You'll own discovery, specs and delivery, and set radiology priorities with the product lead. You'll also own our radiology partner relationships directly. That's by design: it keeps you closest to the problems you're solving.

You'll report to the Head of Product and work daily with engineering, the founders and our partner clinics.

What you'll do

  • Discovery. Learn radiology operations deeply through clinic staff, radiologists, referrers, and call and booking data.
  • Specs, prototypes and delivery. Shape features, prototype and write specs, then partner with engineering through release. Measure impact with customers and iterate.
  • Roadmap. Set radiology priorities with the product lead using partner evidence and data, then run the backlog.
  • Outcomes. Define and track the metrics that matter for radiology, such as booking conversion and call resolution rates, and use them to guide priorities.
  • Partner ownership. Be the primary contact for radiology partners from go-live onward, with regular check-ins and clear expectations.
  • Implementation and triage. Enable new partners, resolve configuration requests and triage issues. Start on the frontlines so we can turn product gaps into problem statements.

What you bring

We care more about what you've built than where you've worked. Here's what we're looking for:

  • 3+ years in B2B product management, including features you took from discovery to launch
  • Direct customer experience, turning what you hear into product decisions
  • Clear specs and hands-on prototyping with AI tools, plus strong working relationships with engineers
  • Comfort getting hands-on with configuration and implementation
  • Good judgment about when to resolve something yourself and when to escalate
  • Strong external stakeholder management, including setting expectations, negotiating scope and handling technical complexity
  • Healthcare experience, ideally radiology, or a drive to learn a complex domain fast

This is an early-stage role with real stakes. You'll move quickly, own outcomes and build the playbook as you go. It's probably for you if you say YES to these:

  • Do you move before you're asked, and fix things you didn't break?
  • Can you go from shaping next quarter's roadmap to listening through call recordings to find out why a booking failed, all in the same afternoon?
  • Would you rather spend a morning at a clinic's front desk than guess how it works?
  • Does writing the playbook excite you more than following one?
  • Would you make a good decision today with half the information, rather than a perfect one next month?

Why join Avoca

  • Help define a new kind of product. AI is changing how patients experience healthcare and how clinics run it, and there's no established playbook. You'll help write it.
  • Deep in radiology, with further to go. You'll take radiology from a high-impact booking product toward a complete operating solution, from referrals to documentation.
  • Real ownership from day one. You'll run a live product with enterprise partners, and your work will show up directly in clinic outcomes.

Every feature we ship should get a patient booked, give a reception team time back or lead to better patient outcomes, and we measure ourselves by that difference. We build with the newest AI tools because the problems we're solving weren't solvable until now.

It won't be easy. Radiology is one of healthcare's most complex operational environments, the team is small, and nobody has built what we're building. People who deliver grow fast here: you'll be trusted with real responsibility early, judged on outcomes rather than hours, and surrounded by a team where everyone pitches in on whatever needs doing. If that sounds like the point rather than the problem, we'd like to talk.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and meaningful equity
  • Real ownership of a live product with enterprise partners
  • A great team to learn from and grow with

If you're excited by meaningful challenges and want to help shape the future of healthcare operations, we'd love to meet you.
